It is the responsibility of the clubs and teams to ensure that coaches and officials for their teams have the proper clearances. It is a requirement of the insurance company with which LBSL has a policy to have these clearances in place. It is not the responsibility of the Lower Bucks Swim League or its board or volunteers to ensure these clearances are in completed and in place.
Please note, that if a person associated with a club or team is paid, they are not considered volunteers. For your convenience, please see the below link for obtaining the proper clearances from the PA Child Welfare site. Also, for your convenience, please see a link for the concussion fact sheet. As a reminder, it is the responsibility of the teams and coaches to ensure every swimmer and diver has signed the LBSL Waiver and Release of Liability form and submitted it to the Operating Secretary in advance of the athlete participating in any practice, meet, or LBSL-recognized event. |
(please see Officials clinics below)
All current LBSL officials must attend an LBSL clinic to become recertified for the current season. The exception to this is if persons are a currently certified official with either USA Swimming, YMCA Swimming, or PIAA. If they have any of these certifications, these officials must send a copy of their current certification to Mike Dunn, the Officials Chair of the Lower Bucks Swim League. *NOTE: SAL certification is NOT VALID for the LBSL as the rules differ between the leagues. Those who are becoming new officials in the LBSL, in addition to attending a clinic, they must work 2 meets under the supervision of a certified official and submit their signed Trainee card to Mike. After those 2 meets, they are able to officiate independently. Officials are to wear lanyards at meets. Also, please see clearances and concussion facts info. A reminder to those teams hosting a clinic; you must supply a TV and DVD player. If you are doing table, you need to supply the trainer and all table materials. Please contact the President, if your club would like to host an Officials’ Clinic. The officials clinics are shown on the calendar below. |
(please see Software clinics below)
The LBSL uses HY-TEK sports software, Team Manager and Meet Manager to manage teams and events.
If your team wishes to have more clinics, please contact the President. Clinics on how to use this software are typically held every year shown on the calendar below. |
